MELcademy was built because most MEL training is either too theoretical, too tech-bro, or too expensive for the sector it's supposed to serve. We fix all three.
I'm a MEL practitioner and AI educator based in Brighton, UK. I still write logframes, clean datasets, and present to donors on Fridays. MELcademy exists because I kept being asked the same questions by colleagues who wanted to use AI responsibly but couldn't find training that was honest about the limitations.
I founded MELcademy in 2021 alongside AnimateData and Interactive Tech. All three are built on the same principle: practical tools, honest teaching, sector-appropriate pricing.
My courses come from real project challenges. If I haven't used a tool on a live programme, I don't teach it. If something doesn't work as advertised, I say so.
Every course starts from a real MEL challenge. If it doesn't work on a live project, it doesn't make the curriculum.
We test tools before we teach them. We say when something doesn't work. We don't sell you on AI magic.
AI is a tool, not a replacement. Every course reinforces the practitioner's role in interpreting, verifying, and deciding.
